Dr. Diane Lusas joined IWC in 2016, and was appointed Medical Director in January 2017. After completing her residency at Yale Hospital, Dr. Lusas has focused her skill on treating wounds including pressure, diabetic, traumatic, surgical, vascular, and burns.
Dr. Lusas’s responsibilities include, advanced clinical training for our physicians and nurse practitioners, collaborating on difficult wound cases, and supervisory visits to facilities under our care.
In addition to the medical oversight, Dr. Lusas provides primary wound care at several facilities in Connecticut, and performs minor bedside procedures as needed.Dr. Lusas is an Associate of the American Professional Wound Care Association, and an active member of the Association for the Advancement of Wound Care.
Dr. Lusas general surgery residency training at the Hospital of St. Raphael and Yale New Haven Hospital, both in New Haven, CT. She attended New York Medical College in Valhalla, NY for medical school, graduating in 2011. She earned a B.S. in Biochemistry from Northeastern University in Boston, MA, graduating Summa Cum Laude in 2007.
